Eldoret Animal Sanctuary welcomes passionate volunteers to join our mission of wildlife conservation, education, and cultural preservation. We offer several rewarding volunteer programs for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to contribute their time and skills.
Animal Caretaker Volunteers
Assist our animal keeping staff with the daily feeding, cleaning, enrichment activities and monitoring of the sanctuary’s resident animals including primates, birds, reptiles and mammals. This hands-on opportunity allows volunteers to gain firsthand experience in animal husbandry practices.
Education Program Volunteers
Help facilitate our educational tours, classroom lessons and demonstrations for visiting schools and public groups. Share your knowledge while inspiring the next generation of conservation stewards.
Botanical Garden Volunteers
Support the maintenance and upkeep of our 5-acre botanical gardens by assisting with planting, landscaping, trail work and garden interpretation. Gain practical horticulture experience while working among indigenous plant species.
Cultural Ambassador Volunteers
Immerse yourself in the local traditions by volunteering at our cultural homesteads. Help showcase Kenyan heritage through storytelling, craftmaking, dance, cuisine and more under the guidance of community elders.
General Operations Volunteers
Contribute to the overall operations of the sanctuary through visitor services, gift shop assistance, landscaping, light construction projects and more. These volunteers provide crucial support to our day-to-day functions.
Volunteers receive educational training and free entry to the sanctuary during their service. Long-term, senior, student, and group volunteer placements are available.
